There are sandy beaches and spectacular elevated ocean vistas along the shores of the Atlantic ocean while the urban landscape is pocked with a number of  freshwater lakes, both large and small.  And if you wish to leave the confines of the ‘city’, wilderness, farmscapes and seascapes are never far away. 

Voted the world’s best vacation island and boasting one of North Americas most scenic drives (Cabot Trail), Cape Breton Island is easily reached on modern and uncrowded highways.
